JERSEY ELECTRICITY
APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Jersey Electricity has today announced the appointment of a successor to Mike Liston who stands down as Chief Executive of the Company later this year, to pursue other professional interests. Chris Ambler is a 39 year old Chartered Engineer with a First Class Honours Degree from Queens’ College Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD, Europe’s leading BusinessSchool. He has wide international experience of strategic and operational business development in the energy and technology sectors, gained whilst working for major corporations including ICI/Zeneca, BOC and British Gas/Centrica, as well as corporate finance consulting roles.
Mike Liston
will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
The Company’s Chairman, Geoffrey Grime said that the Board recognised the major importance of this appointment to the Company’s customers, investors and staff, especially given the challenges it faces in preserving high standards of electricity supply security, economy and environmental performance in worsening global energy and climate change scenarios. "For these reasons and in recognition of our corporate governance obligations as a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, we held a rigorous recruitment competition which attracted strong local and international response. The selection process demonstrated the very high calibre of candidates from among the Company’s existing senior management and Chris Ambler’s exceptional breadth in the engineering, finance and commercial disciplines will bring extra strength to that team".
Chris is married with a 6 year old daughter. His wife Caroline is a teacher of modern languages and they share personal and professional links with Jersey. Chris will join the Company in September.
