About the electricity supply at your new home

Contact us on 505460 where the whole change of tenancy process can be completed over the telephone with one of our trained Customer Care advisors. Our lines are open from 7.30 am to 8 pm Mondays to Saturdays. 
      
Alternatively you can download an application form from our website or collect one from the Customer Care Business Reception at the Powerhouse Queens Rd. which is open 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Saturday. Forms can be faxed back on 505565, sent back via post to JEC Ltd, PO Box 45, The Powerhouse, Queeens Road, St. Helier Jersey JE4 8NY or returned by e-mail to jec@jec.co.uk 
      
We will then organise for you to provide us with an opening meter reading, or (should you be unable to access your meter) we will send out one our metering technicians to read take the opening reading on your behalf . Please note that we require 48 hours notice to send out a technician.

If the electricity supply has been disconnected

If in the unlikely event the electricity supply in the property you are moving into has been disconnected, you will need to contact our Customer Care Phone Centre on 505460 or contact us in person to arrange a date and access for the supply to be reconnected. The supply will be reconnected within 2 working days (subject to the electrical installation being in a safe condition). If you are in any doubt about the condition of the electrical installation, please contact your electrical contractor. Note: There may be a charge for the reconnection of supply.

If for safety reasons the supply cannot be reconnected

If for safety reasons the supply cannot be reconnected, the engineer will leave a card detailing the areas within the electrical installation which need attention by your electrical contractor. Once your electrician confirms to you that the installation is now safe to reconnect, you can then either return the card or contact us in person, or by telephone on 505460 to arrange for the engineer to recall and reconnect the supply (within 3 working days and subject to the electrical installation now being in a safe condition).

About the electricity supply at your existing home

Give notification via the telephone on 505460 (lines open 7.30 am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday). We will then arrange for you to provide us with a final meter reading for the property you are vacating.

About advising the new owner/tenant of your existing home

If possible, advise the new owner/tenant of the property you are vacating  that they need to contact us to take over responsibility for the electricity supply  They can do this by making a short phone call to our Customer Care Phone Centre on 505460 lines open 7.30 am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday.
