Phil Austin MBE
Phil Austin was appointed to the Board in May 2016, having spent most of his career in banking with HSBC in London and, ultimately, Jersey, where from 1997 to 2001, he was Deputy Chief Executive of the Bank’s business in the Offshore Islands. In 2001, he became the founding CEO of Jersey Finance Limited, the body set up as a joint venture between the Government of Jersey and its finance industry, to represent and promote the industry at home and abroad. In 2009, he took on a portfolio of non-Executive directorships - a portfolio consisting of both public and privately-owned businesses. Phil is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. In January 2016, he was awarded an MBE in The Queen's New Year's Honours List. Phil is currently a non-Eexcutive Director of City Merchants High Yield Trust, a publicly quoted company.
