Hautlieu win Schools First Aid Competition for second year
Hautilieu won the Jersey Electricity-sponsored St John Ambulance Senior Schools First Aid Competition for the second year running last night, beating six other teams from four schools. The event, hosted this year by Jersey College for Girls, saw the young First Aiders, working in teams and pairs, faced with several scenarios from a heart attack victim to a bad fall. Their competence in dealing with each incident against the clock was judged by St John Ambulance nurses. The youngsters also faced a quick-fire tie-break quiz to be counted in case of a tie. That wasn’t necessary as Hautlieu were clear winners ahead of Beaulieu. JCG and Grainville were also represented. Hautlieu now travel to the UK Finals in October.
