JE seeks next generation of power players
Jersey Electricity is again looking to recruit the next generation of talented and highly skilled engineers and technicians by offering four apprenticeships and two trainee roles in its dynamic Energy Division to Island youngsters.
It is a few years since JE’s Energy Division recruited apprentices on this scale and those that joined the Company back in 2011 have all made excellent progress and are now fully qualified in their respective fields.
JE CEO Chris Ambler said: ‘At a time when many companies have cut back on apprenticeship schemes we are pleased to be investing in youngsters in a way that will provide them with rewarding careers. As a company, we need to find and nurture new, young talent so we have a qualified, skilled and motivated workforce for the future. We have to look well ahead to ensure our engineers are not only qualified but also sufficiently experienced, having learned directly from those they will replace.’
The current vacancies are for: Apprentice Electrical Fitter, Apprentice Carpenter, two Apprentice Linespersons/Jointers, Trainee Electrical Engineer and Trainee CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Technician.
The successful candidates will participate in JE’s comprehensive training programmes to ensure they are able to safely and reliably deliver excellent customer service and operational performance for customers.
