Bill basics

You're billed for each unit of electricity you use, plus a Daily Service Charge. Electricity use is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh). One kWh equals one unit of electricity.

The amount you pay for each unit depends on the tariff you are on and when you use it.

Time and tariffs

Electricity is more expensive at peak load times and cheaper at off-peak times. These tariffs offer discounted off-peak rates for electricity used by approved home and water heating systems:

General Domestic is our single rate tariff which is more suitable for customers who do not use electricity for space or water heating.

The Daily Service Charge

A Daily Service Charge is added to your bill for each day in the billing period. These charges cover Jersey Electricity's administration costs. You can find our current Daily Service Charges for each tariff in the Tariff & Rates section.

F - Fuse Withdrawn

P - Preliminary Reading

R - Reconnection of Supply

T - Termination

X - Meter Change
