Jersey Electricity staff  raised over £10,000 in 2014 for local charities from individual and corporate fund raising initiatives, their efforts boosted by the Company’s generous policy of matching any monies raised. This is in addition to the many corporate donations and sponsorships Jersey Electricity makes in support of the community it powers.

A new and very successful initiative for 2014 was a Staff Number Charity Prize Draw devised by Internal Auditor Chris Nixon. Every month staff have £5 deducted from their salaries and nominate their favourite charity from the Association of Jersey Charities. One charity a month is chosen at random to benefit while four staff receive cash prizes. ‘This way the smaller less well known charities get help, too,’ says Chris.
