The theme for Earth Day this year was Our Power, Our Planet, and Every Child Our Future, together with Flair Entertainment created a recycling focused theatre performance, sharing what we can all do to help the environment with primary school students.
Every Child Our Future were one of the first charities to apply for support under 100 Projects That Matter, their application hit not one for two of our pillars, education and environment, making it an easy yes for our panel.
This partnership was brought together between the local charity and entertainment group, Flair Entertainment. It's great to see these two groups come together with the common drive to educate young minds on the Island and increase awareness of recycling and caring for our environment.
Based on the novel ‘Michael Recycle’, the performance touched on what materials can be recycled, how to recycle and the different recycle bins on the Island, sharing with the pupils how even they can recycle at home.
Performed across 10 primary schools in April, to celebrate Earth Day, each of the classes not only got to see the performance but they also got to keep two copies of Michael Recycle to refer back to in lessons.
