Two men guide power cable off a reel

Our three undersea supply cables to France are the foundation of a secure, low-carbon energy system that is the envy of many countries.

This energy platform gives Jersey access to almost limitless supplies of low carbon imported electricity and is entirely compatible with local renewables, which we are bringing on to the grid.

To ensure this power gets to your homes and businesses safely and reliably when you need it also requires a robust on-island distribution system.

Between 2004 and 2020, we have invested significantly in new primary substations and our South Hill Switching Station to form a robust 90kV double ring around the Island.

We are now turning our attention to new demand-side technologies to give our customers more control, choice and comfort than ever before.

Planning our projects

We are proud to have kept pace with the increasing demand for electricity over almost a century. We plan 20, 30 sometimes 40 years ahead in projects that can cost millions of pounds.
