About us Our Vision 100 Projects That Matter Project Listing Celebrating one year of 100 Projects That Matter

We’re proud to reflect on the incredible impact of our community-giving initiative, 100 Projects That Matter. Our community giving platform is designed to put people and purpose at the heart of our Island.

Focused on the four key pillars; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, education, health, and the environment, this initiative is all about creating meaningful change where it matters most.

Our goal is simple, to champion local causes and charities, strengthen community connections, and provide better resources for Island-wide benefit.

Since its launch in January 2025, 100 Projects That Matter has supported 35 community projects and 30 organisations, providing funding, resources and guidance to help them thrive. The response has been inspiring, with 98 applications submitted in our first year, each highlighting clear objectives and the positive impact they aim to deliver for Jersey. Seeing the level of engagement we’ve had with the scheme in its first year is really encouraging and we’re excited to see continued growth of our community partnerships.

We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve built and the difference these projects are making every day. Amongst those supported in our first year are charities and community groups like Dementia Jersey, Jersey Heart Support Group, Jersey Child Care Trust and Freeda.

Helping carers feel confident with Dementia Jersey
Earlier this year, Dementia Jersey approached us with a vision to create short educational videos answering common questions from carers. These videos, hosted on the charity’s YouTube channel, cover practical topics such as driving and dementia, managing sleep, and effective communication. By funding this initiative, we’ve helped carers access expert advice anytime, anywhere, empowering them to provide better support for loved ones. “Our aim with this series of videos is to help family carers feel more confident in supporting a loved one with dementia to be able to live well within their own home and familiar surroundings for longer. We are incredibly grateful for the funding we received from JE to help bring this project to life.”  Claudine Snape, CEO Dementia Jersey. Watch the videos.

Giving every child a voice with Jersey Child Care Trust
Together with Jersey Child Care Trust (JCCT), we funded Makaton training for more than 20 JCCT early years practitioners and support workers. Makaton is a communication aid that combines signs with speech, helping children to express themselves. This training means the charity’s team can build stronger relationships with the 80+ children they support in nurseries across Jersey, ensuring every child is heard. “We are delighted to be chosen as one of Jersey Electricity’s 100 Projects that Matter. With the increased Makaton signing knowledge, our team are more easily able to communicate with the children teaching them new ways to express themselves and be understood. This makes a tremendous difference for the children and their families. Thank you, Jersey Electricity.”

Supporting growth for Jersey Heart Support Group
When Jersey Heart Support Group applied for funding to purchase four laptops, we knew this was about more than technology. These laptops allow the team to move away from personal devices, maintain accurate records of the Island’s defibrillators and prepare for future growth. With demand for their services rising, this support ensures they can continue saving lives efficiently.  Mark Harris, Operations Manager of Jersey Heart Support Group says 'We put in an application for 100 Projects That Matter, because we needed new laptops to transition from using our personal devices and to equip us for our plans for future development. The new laptops have made our jobs so much easier and we’re appreciative of the support we’ve been given'.

Campaigning for a safer community with Freeda
On White Ribbon Day, Freeda hosted a powerful panel discussion under the theme “We Speak Up” at the Royal Yacht. The event delivered a clear message: change is essential to end violence against women and girls. By supporting Freeda, we helped amplify this vital conversation and promote a safer, more educated community.

Join 100 Projects That Matter

Our community-giving platform invites registered charities, schools, community groups and not-for-profit organisations to apply for support from JE. This can take the form of donations, event support, charity activities, partnership opportunities or installation projects.
