What is an Automatic Transfer of Responsibility?
An Automatic Transfer of Responsibility is a pre‑authorised arrangement that ensures the electricity supply for a property is automatically transferred into the property owner’s or managing agent’s name the moment a tenant ends their account. This prevents the supply from being left without an accountable customer and avoids unnecessary disconnections or gaps in billing responsibility.
To avoid disconnection
To avoid disconnection when a tenant moves out, please provide the following details:
- Name on the JE account
- Full property address
- Premise number - this can be found on your electricity invoice.
- Preferred contact number
- Billing address details
Once Automatic Transfer of Responsibility is set up, the supply will seamlessly transfer into your name whenever a tenancy ends.
Disconnection Schedule
- Disconnections will take place Tuesday to Thursday only.
- No disconnections will occur Friday to Monday, providing a grace period for tenant move-ins and move-outs.
