Important information for our Pay As You Go customers

Pay As You Go customers will be unable to top up their meters either online via Topup.je or in your usual local retailer between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm Sunday 23 November due to systems maintenance. 

We apologise for the inconvenience and urge customers to ensure they have sufficient credit on their meters to cover this period.

If your credit drops below £1 you have the option to activate Emergency Credit. The meter will say: Low Credit . . . EC Offer. Press button ‘A’ to activate.

People Werner Bornman

Werner's background and experience

Werner moved from his native South Africa to join Jersey Electricity in April 2019, bringing with him over 15 years' IT experience in the finance sector within digital, project management, organisational and change management.

Before joining Jersey Electricity, Werner held a number of senior roles including:

  • Chief Information Officer
  • Head of IT

Werner also has a Master of Commerce in Information Security from the University of Johannesburg.

Werner's role at Jersey Electricity

In his role as Director of Technology Werner:

  • Provides leadership in the development of JE's digital and technology strategies, securing the engagement of our people right across the business.
  • Implement those strategies using a combination of resources under his direct responsibility, other internal and also external resources.
  • Leads the IT/ infrastructure team, Data team and Jendev
  • Ensures that JE and its stakeholders fully benefit from the application of technology.
