Georgetown Iceland site of latest charger

We've  opened the Island’s 50th Evolve public EV charging point as we continue on our ‘Road to 75’ charging bays by the end of this year.

We've collaborated with the Channel Islands Co-operative Society, Jersey Development Company and other smaller businesses to extend Jersey’s public EV charging infrastructure, and this time we've partnered Sandpiper CI to install the latest 22kW dual charger at Sandpiper’s Iceland store car-park in Georgetown.

Andrew Holmes, Sandpiper’s Food Retail Operations Director said: ‘We’re delighted to partner Jersey Electricity to site the Island’s 50th Evolve electric vehicle charging point at our popular Georgetown, New Era Iceland site. Coincidentally, Iceland is also celebrating 50 years of value and innovation so it’s fitting that our customers can now top up their electric vehicles while topping up their food supplies.’

JE Director of Commercial Services Peter Cadiou said: ‘Our expansion of the Island’s public charging infrastructure is in support of the Government’s 2030 carbon neutrality ambitions. We’ve been delighted to work with Sandpiper and other local businesses to make EV charging as convenient as possible for drivers in the hope of encouraging the uptake of low emission vehicles. Hopefully, by next year no one will be further than one and a half miles from a charging point.’
