2,279 Jersey Electricity customers experienced a power outage yesterday evening (17th October).

The outage began at 19:42 when one of JE’s safety protection devices was triggered due to what is presently believed to be a fault in an underground cable in the Lower Mont Millais/La Colomberie area.

Rapid response teams were promptly mobilised, and the first customers had their power restored by 20:20. By 20:39, approximately 2115 customers had their electricity supply reinstated and by 21:52 all remaining customers were fully restored.

JE CEO Chris Ambler said: “our rapid response teams worked diligently to ensure power was restored as quickly and safely as possible. We understand the significant inconvenience caused by power interruptions and sincerely apologise to all those affected. We are immensely grateful for the patience and understanding shown by our customers during last night's unexpected incident."

For any concerns or queries, customers are encouraged to contact Jersey Electricity's customer service helpline or visit the website for further updates.
