Economy 20 Plus at a glance
Economy 20 Plus provides 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity for approved heating and hot water systems.
This includes 20 hours of cheaper electricity for your heating and hot water.
All other appliances run on the General Power and Lighting Rate at all times (see below).
Who is it for?
Economy 20 Plus is suitable for homes with approved:
- Electric central heating
- Electric underfloor heating
- Smart electric heaters
- Electric flow boiler
- Heat pump
The approved system needs to be connected to a dedicated heating or hot water circuit. For example, electric heaters can't just be plugged into a socket.

Economy 20
20 hours of cheaper electricity in any 24 hours for approved heating and hot water systems.
Economy 20 Plus
For electricity used by approved heating and hot water during four peak hours: 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm.
General Power and Lighting
For all other appliances at all times.
