An update to your electricity tariff

From 1 March 2026, a 2.5% increase to electricity prices came into effect. This will be shown in the first electricity bill you receive after 1 March. 

We understand that any increase in household costs can feel challenging, and we want to assure you that we have kept this adjustment as low as possible. For a typical all-electric home using around 10,000 units of electricity a year, the change amounts to around £60 per year, or just over £1 per week*. 

We first announced this change in November 2025 and chose to delay the introduction until March 2026 so that it wouldn’t affect bills during the colder winter months.

*Consumption assumptions are based on a typical all-electric heating household in Jersey. Bill impacts are estimates and will vary depending on domestic usage patterns and meter type.

Current tenants are moving out

If your current tenants are moving out, you will need to complete the following paper forms

To complete the form, you'll need the following details:

  • Your personal details
  • Let property's address
  • Let property's main heating type
  • Date you will be taking over responsibility for the property from the current tenants

Please complete the form at least 48 working hours before you take over responsibility for the property.

If your tenants are moving to a new address in Jersey where they will be responsible for the electricity, they will need to complete the following form online or on paper.

If your tenants are moving to a Jersey address where they will not be responsible for the electricity, or are leaving Jersey, they will need to complete the following form online or on paper.

New tenants are moving in

Before new tenants move in to your property, they will need to complete one of these forms:

Please note: as a landlord, you cannot make your new tenant responsible for the electricity supply. They must complete the relevant form.

If your new tenant does not take responsibility for the electricity supply, we may disconnect the electricity.

No tenants are currently living in your property

If no tenants are currently living in your rental property, you will be responsible for the electricity supply.

Save energy by switching off all appliances at the mains, including the fridge.

Although the electricity use at the property will be very low, you will still be responsible for paying the Daily Service Charge and for any electricity used.

Can I make my new tenant responsible for the supply?

As a landlord, you cannot make your new tenant responsible for the electricity supply. They must complete the relevant form.

Will you disconnect the supply?

Yes. We will eventually disconnect your supply if your tenant doesn't arrange to take responsibility.
