Former Chairman Awarded OBE
Jersey Electricity's former Chairman Geoffrey Grime
Former Jersey Electricity plc Chairman Geoffrey Grime has been awarded an OBE in the 2020 New Year Honours list for "services to the community”. Mr Grime served the company for 15 years before stepping down in 2019 following a distinguished career.
During Mr Grime's career with Jersey Electricity he helped steer the Company through a huge period of transition and growth. This included near £250m of infrastructure investment that transformed Jersey’s network. This was in addition to changes in the support functions and JE's non-energy businesses which today are paying dividends not only to shareholders but also to customers in terms of service delivery and price.
Mr Grime, a Chartered Accountant, began his career in Jersey with Cooper Brothers & Co. He became senior partner of Coopers & Lybrand in 1990. He is a former States Deputy and has served as a Jurat of the Royal Court of Jersey since 2014. His contribution to island-life is therefore well known and this award is extremely well deserved.
Jersey Electricity would like to place on record its thanks and appreciation to Mr Grime for his contribution to Jersey and our organisation, and sincerely congratulate him on achieving this award.
