Have you worked at JE since you left full-time education?
Nearly, I came back from university and temped for a bit in different industries including Jersey Telecom (Accounts Department).
What was your first role at JE?
Whilst temping, a position for a CAD technician came up at JEBS. I was interviewed by Brian Tuck and was given the job.
What made you go for that role?
I had studied CAD and CAM at university and this was the perfect job for me at the time.
How have your skills developed during your time with JE?
JE has helped me with my CAD, they trained me into a Building Services Engineer and now into a Senior Authorised Construction Engineer.
How has JE supported your career decisions?
By supporting my decision to leave the company to go travelling indefinitely as well as welcoming me back when I realised Jersey is a wonderful place to live and work.
Finally, what advice would you give someone just starting out in their chosen career?
Make sure you choose a career that interests you and you find exciting. You are going to be doing it for the rest of your life so you may as well enjoy it as well as get paid for it!
