Much was achieved in 2022 to ensure our Island and community can enjoy a cleaner, greener future.

We continued to help customers reduce costs by saving energy with new technologies. Thousands of Islanders are now using our free My JE app, which we made available to even more people including our pre-payment Pay As You Go customers and those with multiple premises.

Encouraging our customers to download the app and save energy and money will remain one of our top priorities for the year ahead. Using energy wisely benefits our environment and saves money.

We will continue to work hard to help Jersey reach net-zero by reducing emissions from heating and transport.

In 2022, we completed a record number of domestic fuel switches from gas and oil, extended the public EV charging network to 109 points and installed the CI’s first ultra-rapid charger. It’s now even easier for EV drivers to charge at home with our all-inclusive Easycharge subscription service.

Solar PV generation will continue to complement our low-carbon nuclear and hydro power. We know that strengthening Jersey’s energy sovereignty is important to Islanders.

In early 2023 our fifth, and largest to date, commercial solar array at Albert Bartlett will start providing power to the grid and in the summer we will start work on the Island’s first ground mount solar project.

Solar energy is becoming an increasingly important part of our Island’s energy mix and we are working towards delivering 15MWp of solar capacity on-Island over the coming years - enough to power around 2,200 average homes.

Protecting and enhancing our environment is as important as embracing technology.

We have planted trees at scale in 2022. Almost 4,300 trees were planted in our Mourier Valley Restoration Project in partnership with the National Trust, Jersey Water and Jersey Trees for Life.

We also launched our Parish Earth Partnership in St Clement, planting almost 1,000 whips, as well as the Green Grid project, a partnership between JT and Jersey Water, in support of the National Trust, to create Jersey’s largest continuous grid of hedge corridors.
